The Challenge
The shoreline of a reclaimed island development in Lagos State was experiencing active erosion from wave action and tidal currents in the lagoon, threatening the stability of the land boundary and the structural integrity of the perimeter infrastructure.
Our Solution
Willem Olaf supplied high-strength woven geotextile and drainage geocomposite installed along the full shoreline perimeter as a combined erosion protection and drainage system, confining the fill material, dissipating wave energy and allowing controlled drainage without loss of fines.
The Outcome
Shoreline erosion was halted and the land boundary stabilised, protecting the perimeter infrastructure and providing a durable, low-maintenance solution suited to the tidal and wave conditions of Lagos Lagoon.
